The NABA State Route 161 Task Force
was started in the summer of 2006 for the purpose of addressing
beautification along the SR 161 business corridor through Northland.
Funds were successfully raised for additional mowings and volunteer
trash pickup days were organized with the Northland Community Council.
The Task Force's mission has since expanded to organizing business block
watches and beginning exploratory work on the feasibility of a Special
Improvement District, in cooperation with Northland Alliance.
The Northland Community Council
is your area rep for Local Civic associations. We are located in
Columbus Ohio, and want to be the group of today helping you with
your community of tomorrow.
We'd like to extend a warm welcome
to all of the civic and home owner associations in the Northland area.
We are always looking for new members who want to provide their
resources to the Northland community and are looking for a better way
to voice their issues and concerns to the City of Columbus, local businesses
and other pertinent organizations that keep our area one of the best places
in Columbus to live and bring up a family.
The mission of the Northland Alliance
is to work with the private sector, community organizations and
government to improve the Northland area.
The City of Columbus was founded in
1812 and has served as the state capital since 1816. The city has
gradually grown into the most populous city in the state of Ohio.
Franklin Countys government
structure includes 33 agencies, 42 independently elected officials, and
39 appointed boards, commissions and committees. The Franklin County
Commissioners manage a budget of more than $1 billion each year.
If you're planning a visit to the
State of Ohio, the "Buckeye State,"
here's where it all begins. We're sure you'll find such a unique diversity
of activities that you'll need to return time and again just to begin
enjoying everything Ohio has to offer.
